Rust disease in jasmine crop
Scientific name: Uromyces hobsoni
Type: Fungal Disease
Target: Leaves
Damage: Blister-like pustules on the upper surface of leaves
Environmental favorable factors for pests/Diseases:
  • Temperature: The ideal temperature range for rust development is between 68°F (20°C) and 86°F (30°C). Temperatures outside of this range can slow down or even inhibit the growth of the fungus.
  • Humidity: High humidity is crucial for rust development, as it allows the fungal spores to disperse and germinate.
Symptoms of Pest/Disease:
  • Small, white or chlorotic blister-like pustules on the upper surface of leaves
  • Yellowish orange colored pustules on the lower side of leaves, young twigs, and flower buds
  • Infected parts become distorted
  • Heavily infected leaves turn yellow and fall off
Measures to control Pests/Diseases:
Products Technical Names Dosages
Boost Propiconazole 25 % EC 200-300 ml per acre
KTM Thiophanate Methyl 70% WP 250-600 grams per acre
SULVET Sulphur 80 % wdg 750 to 1000 grams per acre
