1. J&K to promote sustainable agriculture with its new project

The "Alternate Agriculture System for Sustainability" project in Jammu and Kashmir aims to advance sustainable agriculture by increasing organic farming, creating and recycling bio-inputs, and educating farmers. The project, which has a budget of Rs. 84 crores over the next five years, seeks to increase the area under certified organic cultivation to 4000 hectares in order to support 10,000 farming households. 🌱🌾

2. A new nano urea plant to start in Deoghar

In Deoghar, Jharkhand, Amit Shah sets the cornerstone for IFFCO's Rs. 450 crore nano urea factory and township. It is India's fifth urea factory of its kind.

3. Nagaland government joins forces with Patanjali Foods for Oil Palm Plantations

Under the National Mission on Edible Oil - Oil Palm (NMEO OP), the Nagaland government and Patanjali Foods have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to encourage oil palm development in the state. The project intends to create an oil mill, benefit farmers, and lessen their reliance on imported edible oil by increasing the area under cultivation. The collaboration demonstrates the state's government's dedication to sustainable agriculture and development. 🌴🌱

4. 2nd Indian Rice Congress was inaugurated at Cuttack

Draupadi Murmu, the President of India, opened the Second Indian Rice Congress in Cuttack and announced that the ICAR-NRRI had created two new rice varieties, the protein- and zinc-rich CR Dhan 310 and CR Dhan 315. Prof. Ganeshi Lal, the governor of Odisha, was also there. 🌾🌾

5. Excess tobacco produced in Karnataka can be sold: Government Says

The surplus Flue-cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco produced by registered and unregistered growers in 2022–2023 may be sold without incurring a fee thanks to the lower production volume, according to the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry. The loss from low production will be covered by the no-penalty permit. 🌿🌱

6. Union Agriculture Minister Inaugurates National Horticulture Fair at IIHR

The National Horticulture Fair on "Innovative Horticulture for Self-Reliance" was launched at the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research in Bengaluru by Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar. The newest innovations in horticulture, such as vegetable and medicinal crop varieties, flower waste utilization, and cost-effective pest management, were on display at the exhibition. The purpose of the event was to encourage farmers to use cutting-edge horticultural techniques for independence and sustainability. 🌼🌱🌿

8. Outbreak Alert: H5N1 Avian Influenza Detected in Jharkhand

In samples obtained from a government poultry farm in Bokaro, Jharkhand, after January 2019 in the Godda district, the ICAR-National Institute of High-Security Animal Disease in Bhopal found the H5N1 strain of avian influenza. Farmers who have had their poultry animals, eggs, or feed disposed of by the state government will receive compensation. Under the LH & DCP Scheme, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), Government of India, splits monies equally between States and UTs. 🐔🦠🚫

9. Hyderabad hosts Start-up conclave on Animal Husbandry & Dairy

To encourage start-ups in the livestock, dairy, and animal husbandry industries, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairy, Government of India, Startup India, CII, and the Animal Husbandry Department of Telangana organized a start-up conclave in Hyderabad. The event featured a showcase of chosen start-ups, a pitch competition, a meet-and-greet for buyers and sellers, and a workshop for early-stage start-ups. 🐄🥛🚀

 

 

10. Odisha Leads the Way with India’s First AI Chatbot for Agriculture

Prof. Ganeshi Lal, the governor of Odisha, recently unveiled "Ama KrushAI," the country's first AI chatbot for the agricultural industry. The bot was created with IIT Madras' Bhashini language interpretation platform and the system. Best agricultural practices, government initiatives, and loan packages from commercial and cooperative banks will all be covered. Based on the information in the Krushak Odisha state farmers' database, this chatbot has been programmed to respond in a personalized manner to questions from farmers on a variety of subjects. 🌾🤖

 

11.The Sensor based Smart Agriculture project to Boost Agriculture in J&K

The "Sensor-based Smart Agriculture" project, funded by the government of Jammu and Kashmir at a cost of Rs. 30.40 crore, aims to automate agricultural processes, improve resource usage efficiency, and increase farm profitability. Additionally, it would allow for the year-round growing of cash crops in high-tech polyhouses.

 

12.Master card & ACCESS to empower FPOs in Assam

Farmers will get capacity-building training through Mastercard & ACCESS Development Services' Mainstreaming agriculture through networks and development initiatives (MANDI) program. The initiative will train Assamese FPOs on frameworks, curricula, and technologies. Additionally, it seeks to improve market connections and digital tools for farmers, as well as raise knowledge of financial services and schemes. 💳🌱📊
