Scab disease is a general term used for a group of plant diseases caused by various fungi or bacteria. These diseases cause rough, scabby lesions to form on the leaves, fruits, tubers, or stems of plants. Apple scab is Caused by the fungus Venturia inaequalis, this disease affects apples, pears, and crabapples. Symptoms include yellow or olive-green spots on leaves, fruit, and sometimes stems. The spots may have a velvety fungal growth on the undersides of leaves. Affected leaves may twist or pucker, turn yellow, and drop prematurely. Fruit may be misshapen and have scabby lesions.
