Diseases Affecting Tomato Crops At Flowering Stage

Diseases Affecting Tomato Crops At Flowering Stage

Despite our best efforts, illnesses frequently damage tomato crop cultivation. 🍅🌱 But don't worry; we're here to help. In this post, we'll talk about several typical ailments that might harm your tomato plants when they're in the flowering stage, as well as how to treat them. 🌸🦠

When your tomato plants are in the blossoming stage, they may contract one of the following common diseases: 🌼🌱

     fungi, bacteria, mildew, viruses

1. Fusarium Wilt

Causal Organism: Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici

Symptoms

  • Lower leaves are becoming yellow and withering. 🍃🟡
  • Browning and drying of the entire plant are signs of disease progression. 🌱🔴

Control Measures

  • Apply 1 ml of Tilt Fungicide (propiconazole 25% EC) per liter of water to the soil. 🌿💧
  • Use 2.5 grams of Roko Fungicide (Thiophanate Methyl 70% WP) per liter of water, or (alternatively). (Or) Apply 3 grams of Saaf Fungicide (Mancozeb 63% + Carbendazim 12% WP) per liter of water. 🛢️🌱

2. Early Blight

Causal Organism: Alternaria solani

Symptoms

  • The lower surface of the leaves develops small, round, brown dots with yellow holes. 🍂🟤
  • Disease may eventually spread to the upper leaves and fruits in extreme situations. 🍅🌿🔴

Control Measures

  • Spray 1 to 1.25 ml of Amistar Top Fungicide (Azoxystrobin 18.2% + Difenoconazole 11.4% SC) per liter of water. 🌿💧 Alternately, apply 0.4 ml of Merivon Fungicide (Fluxapyroxad 250 G/L + Pyraclostrobin 250 G/L SC) per liter of water. 🛢️🌱

3. Late Blight

Causal Organism: Phytopthora infestans

Symptoms

  • The earliest signs of disease are little, water-soaked patches on the leaves that quickly get larger and turn papery and brown. 🍃🟤
  • On the undersides of the leaves, there is a development of grayish-white mold. 🍂🍁🕳️

Control Measures

  • Apply 2 grams of Acrobat fungicide (Dimethomorph 50%WP) per liter of water. 🌿💧 (Or)
  • Apply 1 to 1.2 ml of Equation Pro Fungicide (Famoxadone 16.6% + Cymoxanil 22.1% SC) per liter of water. 🛢️🌱 (Or)
  • Apply 1.5 to 2 ml of Infinito Fungicide (Fluopicolide 5.56% + Propamocarb hydrochloride 55.6% SC) per liter of water. 🌾🔬

4. Bacterial Leaf Spots

Causal Organism: Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria

Symptoms

  • On leaves, tiny water-soaked sores develop, which subsequently turn dark and necrotic. 🍃💧
  • Later, the spots combine to create atypical lesions. 🍂🔴

Control Measures

  • Spray 2 grams of Blitox Fungicide (Copper Oxychloride 50% WP) per liter of water. 🌿💧
  • Use 2 grams of Kocide Fungicide (Copper Hydroxide 53.8% DF) per liter of water, or (alternatively).
  • Spray 6 grams of the cristocycline bactericide (Streptomycin sulfate 90% + Tetracyclin hydrochloride 10% SP) per 50 liters of water. 🛢️🌱

5. Leaf Curl

Causal Organism: Tomato leaf curl virus

Vector: Whitefly

Symptoms

  • The leaves will typically curl upward as a result of the leaf curl virus. 🍃📉
  • It is also possible to detect yellowing and plant stunting, both of which result in decreased fruit size and output. 🌱🟡🔴

Control Measures

  • Use 2 ml of Geolife No-Virus (Bio viricide) per liter of water to squirt the substance over the surface. 💧🌿
  •  Use Perfekt (Plant Extracts) at a rate of 2 ml per liter of water  🌱🍃

  • To keep an eye out for the disease-carrying whiteflies (vectors), place sticky traps, such as Eco Sticky Traps, at a rate of 8–10 traps per acre. 🪰🔍

Note: For your tomato plants to flourish successfully, you must take protactive steps to control infections when they are in the flowering stage. 🌸🌱 Keep an eye out for disease infection in your plants, and act quickly with the necessary fungicides. 🛡️🍅 When applying any fungicides, keep in mind to adhere to the directions on the product labels and take the necessary safety precautions. 📋🌿👷‍♀️.

Conclusion

You can defend your tomato plants from common diseases that frequently hit during the blossoming stage by being watchful and using efficient remedies. 🌼🌱 The solutions offered in this article can help you ensure healthy and plentiful harvests regardless of whether you have Fusarium wilt, Early Blight, Late Blight, Bacterial leaf spots, or Leaf Curl. 🍅🛡️
